Student-Faculty Communities

Abhishek Gupta

I think the living-learning aspect of West Campus fits perfectly for anyone who is looking for an educational platform beyond the typical college environment. It's a way to interact with professors on a day-to-day basis so that you can see that they're real human beings; they have good days and bad days like everyone else.

House-based activities include seminars, guest speakers, performances, film screenings, discussion groups, advising and career-counseling services, and themed programs and social events. Programming is intended to be diverse and to respond to student interests.

Public spaces directly support the program vision with common rooms for large gatherings; seminar and meeting rooms for smaller gatherings; and study, computing, and music practice rooms.

Students can discuss issues and ideas with professors or other distinguished guests at the Café Scientifique, a lecture series hosted by Becker House Professor and Dean Cindy Hazan.
