William T. Keeton House

"I like the fact that it's a self-contained community," says Daniela Sorokko '09, a student assistant at Keeton House. "You have everything there. You've got the library, a dining hall, a [house] professor if you need help, and graduate resident fellows who tutor."

The fourth house on West Campus opened in 2008 and was named after the late biologist and educator William T. Keeton (1933-1980), who revolutionized the teaching of biology at Cornell and in colleges and universities across America. His research centered on avian orientation, including pigeon homing and navigation.

The house professor and dean at Keeton House is Jefferson Cowie, associate professor of labor history in the ILR School.
