Going Green

Cornell earns distinction with the first "green-certified" residence halls in Central New York.

Alice H. Cook House and Becker North received green-building certification under the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. That means they have met the council's stringent standards in all phases of planning, design, and construction. Both houses incorporate sustainable materials, conserve energy, and minimize impact on the environment.
