Message from the Chairs 2008
Dear Friends,
Great news! Far Above… The Campaign for Cornell has surpassed an important milestone -- the $2 billion mark, putting us more than halfway towards our $4 billion goal. This achievement demonstrates the incomparable devotion of alumni and friends to Cornell and their faith in Cornell's leadership to take Cornell to new heights. We couldn't be more enthusiastic about Cornell's future.
Since the start of 2008, Cornell has:
- Announced a sweeping new financial aid initiative that will help more students to attend Cornell and graduate debt-free.
- Established four new professorships in departments and schools that include economics and international studies, enology and viticulture, philosophy, and management
- Created more than 18 named scholarships funds for undergraduates and a number of funds to assist graduate and professional school students.
- Raised funds for new medical institutes and professorships that can advance knowledge about children’s health and cancer prevention and new treatments for Alzheimer’s, heart disease, cancer and more – all while advancing medical training and patient care.
The generosity of Cornell alumni and friends is inspirational and supplies us with great momentum going forward! These gifts have powerful impact on our ability to attract a high quality student body and to enhance the work of our faculty. They remind us all of the importance of Cornell to the world.
Sincerely,
